Cahill dominant, A’s roll

Atleticos 6, Halos 1: Dallas Braden may be on a losing streak since his perfect game, but Trevor Cahill has been masterful since that May 9 brilliance. Cahill hasn’t given up more than three runs in seven starts since May 9, and that didn’t change Thursday: eight innings, one run, 4 Ks. He’s lowered his ERA to 2.91 and is now 5-2. If he regularly struck out more batters, I could call him “K-Hill.” But, I dream…Outfielder Ryan Sweeney went 1-for-2 with two walks, an RBI, and three runs as the Atleticos scored five runs against Halo pitcher Ervin Santana in five innings, revenging his prior dominance over them (19 starts, 11-2 record, 1.50 ERA). Note: if the A’s lost, I would have used this picture. The Angels fly away to LA next (where they will see no Angels) and the A’s open up a three-game series at bayside SF.
