Giants don’t keep the Mota running

Denny the baseball isn't a flapjack

Rojos 7, Gigantes 6: The Gmen took a leak on Reds rookie Mike Leake, then the Reds did the same to Giants relief pitcher Guillermo “The Mota” Mota. This would have been a big win for our Gigantes, who drove Leake outta the game in the fifth with five runs scored, only his second bad outing of his rookie season. But The Mota gave up three runs in the bottom of the eighth, and the Gmen had to settle for a 2-2 series split. Todd “Oscar Mayer” Wellemeyer got injured in the game, and this could leave a spot open for prospect RHP Joe Martinez, who is pitching well for Triple-A Fresno this season (he can’t be worse than Oscar Mayer, right?) and is certainly deserving after making a comeback from a comebacker to his face last season.
