Baltimore Birds hit 5 homers against A's

"Patty cake, patty cake, baker's man, how many homers hit we can?"

Baltimore Birds 9, Atleticos 6: It looks bad, A’s fans, real bad. When a team with the worst record in baseball beats you to a pulp, you know things aren’t looking up. The Baltimore Birds were 23-53 coming into their matchup with the A’s Wednesday, but they made the A’s pitchers look like target practice. Starter Ben Sheets: six innings, four runs (three earned). Brad “Ziggy Stardust” Ziegler: 0.1 innings, two runs. Cedrick Bowers: 0.2 innings, one run. Tyson Ross: one inning, two runs. All of them gave up atleast one homerun. Ugh. Hat’s off to Coco Crisp “Cereal,” who continues to play stellar baseball for Los Atleticos. He hit his second homer of the season Wednesday, a three-run shot, and made a spectacular catch in center that had Sheets gushing, “Coco Crisp is amazing. I had heard he was amazing, but to watch him is unbelievable.” Note to Sheets: the baseball has to be somewhere near the ballpark to be catchable by Coco…The A’s ended June 10-17: the last time they had more than 16 losses in a month was in 1986 (no joke).
